The Bolt News is the student-run news publication of the Concordia University of Edmonton. Student writers submit articles for both the bi-weekly print editions and online editions of the publication. They cover a variety of topics ranging from local happenings and places of interest to world news.
The editing staff keeps the paper running smoothly by divvying up the workload across four positions:
Editor-In-Chief | Tia Schram
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the overall operations of The Bolt New. This includes hiring Writers and Editors, overlooking content in The Bolt News and on The Bolt News website, designing the front page of each issue, ensuring the printing of each issue and generating advertising revenue.
Layout Editor | Kishan Panesar
The Layout Editor is responsible for the design of the print publication of The Bolt News. Additionally, the role encompasses the task of creating the Fun and Games section of The Bolt News and managing the Thunder Athletics section of The Bolt News in conjunction with the Athletics Representative.

Story Editor | Ester Latifi
The story editor is the first point of contact for The Bolt’s writers. They collect articles from the writers and edit them for spelling, grammar, and tone, and also provide suggestions to the writers on how they can improve their work in the future.

Online Editor | Aastha Tripathi
The online editor is The Bolt’s social media liaison and web manager. They are the primary publisher of our social media content and archive articles here on our website. They are also responsible for keeping the website social media profiles’ other information up to date.
