Why You Should Get Involved

Many people view politics as abstract and far-removed from their day-to-day experience. It can be difficult to relate to politicians who speak in terms you don’t always understand or debate issues you may not take specific interest in. Furthermore, it is easy to take on the position that since your opinion doesn’t go a long way on its own, why bother trying to argue for or against something that doesn’t personally impact you? Listen, Then Be Heard

We’ve witnessed two major Canadian political upsets in recent history from here in Alberta. First, the provincial election in May of 2015, then, the same year, the federal election in October. Both elections saw Conservative Party governments overturned in favour of the NDP and Liberal Party, respectively. If these results prove anything, it’s that voting makes a difference.
