Back: On a Budget

As the school year kicks off, everyone is under constant stress trying to organize schedules, meet new people, and make sure they start their year with motivation. However, things tend to slip our minds, and we find ourselves scrambling to find essentials in a rush. Here a list filled with my recommendations for some items that may have slipped your mind.

Starting off strong, a good water bottle is a game-changer. ThermoFlasks are long-lasting, and the handles on the lid makes them easy to carry or clip onto a bag using a carabiner. I’m not someone who makes an effort to drink water, but ever since I started using these bottles, I have never been more hydrated. They’re easy to clean too!

On campus, we are on our feet a lot. Choosing a good pair of sneakers will save your feet and your wallet. I highly recommend getting a pair from Saucony. Specifically the ones that don’t cost $500, or your left arm. The pairs for $100 are not only more affordable, but comfier, and available in more retail stores. These shoes last forever and provide incredible heel support.

The one item everyone can make use of is a reliable pair of noise canceling headphones. Personally, I recommend the Skullcandy Hesh ANC. The noise canceling feature is a lifesaver for working in loud places and the audio quality is incredible. The battery life on these headphones is long lasting, and they charge at the speed of light. I seriously can’t get enough of these headphones. Not to mention, they help keep your ears warm in the winter.

Everyone knows that beds are comfier than desks, otherwise we would probably sleep well on both. A cushioned laptop desk is great for when you’re tired or sick since they’re basically a portable table. Not only are they good for laptops and homework, but any other hobby that needs a hard surface. I’ve tried a few different ones, and I find that any of them on Amazon for around $30 work the best, there’s no need to splurge!

University life is hard enough as it is. These few simple gadgets can make all the difference without breaking the bank, I encourage you to give them a try and see what works for you!
