Presidents Welcome Letter 2024
Tim Loreman
President & Vice-Chancellor
Welcome to Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) and thank you for choosing to pursue your post-secondary education with us.
At CUE, we pride ourselves on not only providing our students with exceptional education experiences, but by doing so in a community that you feel welcome in—that you belong in.
Our small campus community means that you will get to know your professors, you’ll build lifelong relationships with your classmates, and you’ll have opportunities to leave lasting impacts on not only those around you through clubs and events, but potentially on the broader community through hands-on research and work-integrated learning experiences available here.
Your years at CUE will go by faster than you can imagine, so I encourage you to not only get involved in our community through clubs, activities and other extracurriculars, but to soak in the moments as they happen. They are sure to be moments you’ll reminisce on for decades to come.
As you enter new classrooms, say “Hi” to those in the seats next to you, engage yourself in discussions, ask questions, and connect with your professors to learn more about them, the work they do, and what they are passionate about. I promise you that here at CUE, our professors want nothing but the best for you and will do what they can to help you succeed.
Outside of your classroom, we have a number of supports available to you through our Student Success Centre and Student Enrolment Services. If at any point you need support, or even if you’re just curious about what support may exist should you need it, don’t hesitate to connect with any of our support staff. We are all here to make sure you find the success you deserve to have here at CUE.
And finally, immerse yourself in our CUE spirit! Cheer on our Concordia Thunder teams who have games nearly every weekend, get your CUE gear at Bookish, our campus bookstore, and mark your calendars for September 27 & 28 when we’ll celebrate Homecoming.
At Homecoming, you’ll get to connect with fellow students, network with alumni, and cheer on our Concordia Thunder amongst a beer garden, food, games, and other activities that will immerse you in the CUE experience.
I can’t wait to see you around campus and I hope you love your time here.
