Thunder Men's Soccer 2024: Season Preview
The 2024 season for Thunder Men’s Soccer is about to begin. The team is looking to make a jump from last season, with a goal of making the playoffs.
Finishing 4-6-2 last season, the program is looking for veterans Dante Garritano and Carlos Echeverria to continue improving and build on their promising finish to last season, where the team won its final three games.
Men’s Soccer will have 14 rookies joining the group this year. The new athletes will compete for big minutes, as they look to find the winning formula. Over half of the starting lineup will be experiencing their first ACAC game this coming weekend. “We have a really young team with a lot of new faces. Game 1 will be a new experience for a lot of the players and we’re looking forward to seeing how far we can go this year.” Garritano added.
"This year we will have a young team with ambition and hunger to compete,” head coach Thiago Silva commented. “I'm excited to get the season going with this group and compete for a spot in the playoffs."
Thunder Men’s Soccer’s home opener will be on Saturday, September 7th, at 2:00PM at Strathcona Athletic Park as they go up against Portage College.
